हिन्दी भाषा को संसार भर में सबसे अधिक बोली जाने वाली भाषाओं मे से एक होने का सम्मान प्राप्त है और यह विश्व के 56 करोड़ लोगों की भाषा है। आँकड़े बताते हैं कि भारत में 54 करोड़ तथा विश्व के अन्य देशों में 2 करोड़ लोग हिंदीभाषी हैं।

Hindi is one of the most widely spoken languages in the world. Studies reveal that 540 million people in India and 2 million people in other countries speak Hindi.
नेपाल में 80 लाख, दक्षिण अफ्रीका में 8.90 लाख, मारीशस में 6.85 लाख, संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका में 3.17 लाख, येमन में 2.33 लाख, युगांडा में 1.47 लाख, जर्मनी में 0.30 लाख, न्यूजीलैंड में 0.20 लाख तथा सिंगापुर में 0.05 लाख लोग हिंदीभाषी हैं। इसके अलावा यू.के. तथा यू.ए.ई. में भी बड़ी संख्या में हिंदीभाषी लोग निवास करते हैं। विश्व की सर्वाधिक बोली जाने वाली भाषाओं में हिंदी का स्थान दूसरा है।It is welknown fact that there are around 8 million in Nepal, 890,000 in South Africa, 685,000 in Mauritius, 317,000 in the U.S., 233,000 in Yemen, 147,000 in Uganda, 30,000 in Germany, 20,000 in New Zealand and 5,000 in Singapore Hindi speakers. Also, there are notable populations of Hindi speakers in UK and UAE. Hindi is the second most spoken language in the world.
